POSTAL POLAROID PROJECT

Postal Polaroid Project is an artistic exchange project that seeks to establish connections and crossings between artists and image-thinkers from different parts of the world, through photographic language and experimentation.

The project starts with sending two Polaroid photographs accompanied by a brief text, poem, or written fragment. Each participant selects one of the images to intervene on before sending it back, incorporating whatever materials, gestures, and procedures they consider necessary.

Through these displacements, the Polaroids become surfaces of encounter, correspondence, and experimentation. The project proposes rethinking the forms of artistic circulation and exchange in an increasingly digitized context, recovering the material, affective, and temporal dimension of postal mail.

Each shipment goes through different states — travel, waiting, handling, transformation, and return, sometimes also losses or missed encounters — the images accumulate marks, detours, and layers of meaning that become part of the project. Some have already returned; others continue traveling.
